EDITOR BRIEF
Science Corporation, led by Neuralink co-founder Max Hodak, has implanted its PRIMA vision-restoring chip in its first patient with Stargardt disease. Hodak said at TechCrunch Disrupt that the retinal implant work is part of the company’s path toward a broader brain-computer interface platform.
COMMENTARY
The milestone suggests vision restoration may become an early commercial and clinical proving ground for neurotechnology. If PRIMA shows meaningful results, Science Corporation could use medical implants as a lower-risk bridge toward more ambitious BCI applications.
