Anthropic launches Claude Tag, replacing its Slack app with a persistent AI teammate that learns, monitors and works autonomously

Anthropic launched Claude Tag, a beta product for Claude Enterprise and Team customers that replaces its Slack app with a persistent AI agent invoked by typing @Claude. The tool can access approved channels, tools, and data sources, then autonomously break down and complete tasks such as code work, sales analysis, and support workflows.

Claude Tag signals a shift from AI as an individual assistant toward team-level agents embedded in collaboration hubs where work is assigned and tracked. If adopted broadly, these systems could reshape enterprise software governance, vendor lock-in, and how companies manage institutional knowledge inside Slack-like platforms.
