EDITOR BRIEF
Meta is adding an AI assistant and a desktop version to Edits, its video creation app for Instagram creators. The move is aimed at making Edits more useful across workflows and keeping creators engaged as Instagram competes with TikTok and YouTube.
COMMENTARY
The update shows Meta is treating creation tools as a strategic battleground, not just a feature layer. By embedding AI-powered editing into Edits and expanding to desktop, Meta could make Instagram stickier for professional and semi-professional creators.
