Asana acquires no-code agent-builder StackAI

Asana acquired StackAI, a workflow automation startup that builds AI agents for business systems, for $75 million. StackAI’s founders will join Asana as it expands products like AI Studio and AI Teammates into a broader AI-native workplace platform.

The deal shows Asana trying to differentiate from OpenAI, Anthropic, Zapier, and other automation rivals by embedding agents directly into enterprise workflows. If Asana can turn its existing work-management data into useful context for human-agent teams, the acquisition could help revive investor confidence after a difficult post-ChatGPT stretch.

Asana will incorporate StackAI into its growing suite of AI workflow tools.
