EDITOR BRIEF
Apple announced M6 refreshes for the iMac and entry-level 14-inch MacBook Pro; the chip first appeared in the Mac mini several weeks ago. The iMac’s two-port configuration has a 10-core CPU and GPU and supports up to 24GB of RAM and 1TB of storage, while the four-port option has 12-core CPU and GPU and supports up to 32GB of RAM and 2TB.
COMMENTARY
For iMac buyers, the four-port configuration brings higher core counts and more memory and storage headroom, but the article gives no pricing or performance comparisons to show whether that upgrade is worth the cost. It does not specify the MacBook Pro’s M6 configuration.
