IANA redesigns example.com with rotating multilingual text, JavaScript animation, and a new SVG icon

IANA updated example.com on September 28, 2026, changing the long-running documentation placeholder from a static English page into a multilingual experience. The redesign cycles through English, Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, and Spanish every five seconds, using JavaScript, SVG, and character-by-character opacity transitions.

The update shows how even foundational internet utilities are being refined for global accessibility and clearer user expectations. By warning that example.com is not a testing or monitoring service, IANA is also reinforcing the boundary between documentation infrastructure and operational dependencies.
