Gemini 3.8 Live with Live Avatar gives Google’s AI a face

Google’s Gemini 3.8 Live update introduces Live Avatar, an animated AI persona that lip-syncs and changes facial expressions during real-time conversations. The feature supports 97 languages and can switch between them without visible quality loss, but is currently limited to Gemini Enterprise customers.

The launch shows Google pushing Gemini beyond text and voice toward more human-like, embodied AI experiences for workplace users. If reliable across languages, avatar-based assistants could become more useful for training, support, and customer-facing enterprise applications.
