EDITOR BRIEF
Best Buy is offering a one-day in-store deal on Saturday, August 22, selling $100 gift cards for $60 while supplies last. The cards can’t be used to buy other gift cards or prepaid debit cards, but they can be combined with other Best Buy promotions on discounted products like iPads, AirPods Max, and laptops.
COMMENTARY
This is an aggressive foot-traffic promotion designed to pull shoppers into stores and increase attachment to broader anniversary sale discounts. The restrictions limit arbitrage, while the ability to stack the card with product deals could drive higher-value electronics purchases.
