One in five enterprises can't stop a runaway AI agent's spending in real time

A VB Pulse survey of 107 enterprises found that 85% use two or more AI orchestration platforms, with Microsoft, OpenAI, and Anthropic prominent in enterprise stacks. Many teams are pursuing hybrid setups because they still lack confidence in vendors’ security, permissioning, token visibility, and real-time agent spending controls.

The findings suggest enterprise AI is shifting toward multi-platform orchestration rather than standardizing on one dominant vendor. Cost governance and agent permissions are becoming core buying criteria, especially as autonomous systems raise the risk of unexpected usage spikes and operational exposure.
