TrueFoundry's open source AI agent harness TrueForge boasts 30%-75% cheaper task completion than Claude Managed Agents

TrueFoundry released TrueForge, an MIT-licensed AI agent harness that enterprises can self-host, modify, and pair with their preferred models. The company says TrueForge completed 11 of 14 DevRev Enterprise-Bench tasks at 75% lower cost than Claude Managed Agents when using GLM-5.2, and about 30% lower cost when both used Claude Opus 4.8.

The launch reflects growing enterprise demand for vendor-neutral agent infrastructure as companies seek more control over model choice, tooling, permissions, and costs. Open-source harnesses could pressure managed agent platforms to justify premiums with reliability, governance, and integration depth rather than convenience alone.
