Google Gemini is getting a dedicated student hub

Google is rolling out a dedicated student hub in Gemini ahead of back-to-school season, offering tools for research collection, flashcards, practice quizzes, and study notebooks. The update also adds support for graphs and images, plus the ability to extract test dates and deadlines from a syllabus into Google Calendar.

The move positions Gemini as a more comprehensive education assistant, competing with study-focused AI tools by bundling research, organization, and test prep into one workflow. Adding Deep Research to Gemini Live also signals Google’s push toward more conversational, multimodal academic support that can continue working in the background.
