Google’s free streaming service now lets you pick shows and movies to watch

Google TV Freeplay now lets users choose from more than 10,000 ad-supported shows and movies on demand, instead of only watching always-on streaming channels. The update adds titles such as Lady Bird, Seventeen Again, and Hell's Kitchen, while expanding its live lineup to over 300 channels.

The move makes Google TV Freeplay more competitive with free ad-supported streaming rivals by combining on-demand libraries with live linear channels. It also reflects the broader push by platform owners to turn smart TV interfaces into recurring ad revenue hubs.
