Watching Roku’s AI channel is like eating from a trough

Roku added four free ad-supported streaming channels, including feeds for Mad TV, Whose Line Is It Anyway?, Black sitcoms, and a new 24/7 stream of AI-made projects. The AI channel highlights Roku’s push to test whether AI-generated content can fit into the lean-back FAST viewing model.

FAST platforms are increasingly about cheap, abundant programming, and AI video could make that supply nearly endless. But if viewers perceive the output as low-quality filler, AI channels may reinforce concerns that streaming libraries are becoming more about volume than curation.
