The Zelda movie’s Ganondorf casting hints at more movies

Deadline reports that Australian actor Uli Latukefu will play Ganondorf in the upcoming live-action The Legend of Zelda movie. The report says Latukefu signed a multi-picture deal, fueling speculation that Nintendo and Sony may be planning more than one Zelda film.

A multi-film commitment would fit Nintendo’s broader push to turn its biggest game franchises into long-running movie properties. After the box office success of Mario, Zelda could become the next major pillar in Nintendo’s Hollywood strategy if the first film performs well.
