EA is now a private company

Electronic Arts is now privately held after closing its $55 billion sale to an investor group led by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, Silver Lake, and Affinity Partners. The deal includes $20 billion in debt financing, with PIF reportedly owning 93.4% of the new company.

The record-setting leveraged buyout could intensify pressure on EA to cut costs, prioritize reliable franchises, and maximize recurring revenue.
