EDITOR BRIEF
Woot is selling a refurbished first-generation Kindle Scribe with 16GB of storage and a Premium Pen for $149.99 with promo code KINDLE25. The 10.2-inch E Ink device works as both a large e-reader and digital notebook, with recent software updates adding AI note summaries and handwriting refinement.
COMMENTARY
The deal makes Amazon’s biggest Kindle cheaper than some mainstream e-readers, potentially widening its appeal among students and note-takers. It also shows how software updates and AI features can extend the relevance of older hardware, though the short warranty and refurbished condition add some risk.
