A bootleg copy of Spider-Man: Brand New Day reportedly stayed on X for more than seven hours, reaching 5.9 million accounts and gaining 143,000 likes before removal. Disney has since been issuing takedown requests as reposts appear, while the film is still breaking preview box office records with $72 million.

The leak shows how quickly high-profile entertainment piracy can spread on major social platforms before enforcement catches up. Still, the film’s record previews suggest that for major franchises, online leaks may generate noise without meaningfully denting theatrical demand.
