Tim Cook hints at iCloud Plus tier for AI power users

Tim Cook said Apple expects people to use Apple Intelligence and the upcoming Siri AI heavily, and suggested iCloud Plus could offer paid ways to “buy up the stack.” The broader Siri AI rollout is expected this fall with iOS 27, including screen-aware answers, cross-app actions, and a standalone ChatGPT-like Siri app.

Apple appears to be laying groundwork for AI usage tiers tied to its existing services business rather than charging separately for each feature. If adopted, this could normalize consumer AI subscriptions built around usage limits, especially as on-device and cloud AI costs rise.
