Alexa Plus is getting an AI update to handle more complicated instructions

Amazon is previewing an Alexa Plus update that lets the assistant connect more deeply with smart-home products from Bosch, Delta, Ecovacs, iRobot, Yale Home, Whirlpool, Tapo, Eufy, and others. The assistant can interpret more complicated requests, such as choosing the right washing machine cycle based on a user’s description of a garment’s care needs.

The update shows Amazon trying to make Alexa Plus a more capable AI assistant rather than a basic voice-command interface. If it works reliably across brands and device types, it could make smart-home systems feel more intuitive and increase pressure on rivals to support richer natural-language control.
