TikTok is testing an AI likeness detection tool

TikTok is testing an opt-in feature that scans for AI-generated likenesses and lets creators report suspected misuse to the company. The pilot is available to some US creators, who must verify their identity through Jumio before using the likeness detection tool.

The move shows major platforms responding to rising concerns over deepfakes, impersonation, and unauthorized creator replicas. As YouTube rolls out a similar capability, AI identity protection is becoming a competitive trust-and-safety feature for creator platforms.
