Moonshine AI’s open source Moonshine Micro toolkit enables real-time voice interfaces on embedded processors, using Raspberry Pi’s RP2350 as a reference platform. The demo combines voice activity detection, command recognition, and neural speech synthesis in about 468KB of SRAM and 3.6MB of flash.

INSIGHTS

This points to a broader shift toward on-device voice AI for cheap, low-power hardware rather than cloud-dependent assistants.
