Google will now tell you if an ad was made with AI

Google is adding a new label in My Ad Center that tells users when an ad on Search, Discover, or YouTube was created or edited with AI. The disclosure appears in the “how this ad was made” panel, alongside existing controls to block or report ads.

The move reflects growing pressure on platforms to make synthetic commercial content more transparent as generative tools become standard in ad production. Because Google only automatically labels ads made with its own tools, AI ad disclosure will still depend partly on advertisers accurately self-reporting content made elsewhere.
