Netflix is about to host videos from BuzzFeed, Condé Nast, and other publishers

Netflix will begin hosting video content from dozens of digital media brands, including BuzzFeed, Condé Nast, Hearst Magazines, People Inc, and Tastemade. The deal includes both licensed back-catalog videos and new ongoing series that might otherwise have appeared on YouTube or other online platforms.

The move positions Netflix as a broader hub for short-form digital video, not just premium TV and films. It also gives publishers another distribution and monetization channel as reliance on social platforms and YouTube becomes more uncertain.
