Meta’s new Muse Image model can pull other Instagram users into AI photos

Meta is rolling out Muse Image, the first image-generation model from its Superintelligence Labs, across the Meta AI app, Instagram, and WhatsApp, with Facebook and Messenger support coming later. The model is part of the broader Muse family replacing Meta’s Llama lineup and can use reasoning, web search, and planning before generating images.

Meta is pushing image generation deeper into its social apps, turning AI creation into a native feature rather than a standalone tool. The ability to incorporate other users into AI photos could drive engagement, but it also raises fresh questions around consent, identity, and platform moderation.
