T-Mobile is booting customers from its oldest plans

T-Mobile has started notifying some customers that it will retire older legacy plans, including plans dating back to the 3G and 4G eras. Chief marketing officer Allan Samson confirmed the move, saying affected subscribers will be transitioned to modern plans built for the carrier’s 5G network.

The shift shows carriers are increasingly willing to phase out older, often cheaper plans as network technology and pricing strategies evolve. For customers, the change could mean better plan features but also raises concerns about higher costs and reduced flexibility for longtime subscribers.
