OpenRA playtest adds random map generators, Dune 2000 upgrades, and expanded Tiberian Dawn remaster asset support

OpenRA’s latest playtest introduces random map generators for Red Alert, Tiberian Dawn, and Dune 2000, usable in both skirmish and multiplayer. Dune 2000 gets new visual effects, Starport bulk purchases, a community balance overhaul, and campaign difficulty tweaks, while the standalone Tiberian Dawn HD mod is now feature-complete with selectable classic or remastered assets.

The update shows OpenRA continuing to evolve from a preservation project into a more modern, community-driven RTS platform. Procedural map tools and remastered asset support could extend replayability and make classic RTS games more approachable for new players while keeping longtime fans engaged.
