Microsoft introduces cheaper Surface devices with half the memory

Microsoft introduced cheaper configurations of its 12-inch Surface Pro and 13-inch Surface Laptop, each with 8GB RAM instead of 16GB. The new models cost $849 and $949, following April 2026 price increases that pushed higher-memory base models above $1,000.
