Snap’s Specs look good on nobody

Snap’s latest smart glasses appear to be among the most capable AR devices yet, benefiting from years of lens development and a relatively compact form compared with VR headsets. But photos of the $2,195 Specs highlight a major drawback: their bulky design looks uncomfortable and unflattering on wearers.

The product underscores a persistent challenge for consumer AR: technical progress is outpacing wearability and social acceptability. Until companies solve the fashion problem, even impressive face-computer hardware may struggle to move beyond developers, enthusiasts, and demos.
