EDITOR BRIEF
Google is starting the Wear OS 7 rollout for Pixel Watch 2, 3, and 4, adding Live Updates that mirror real-time Android events like sports scores and meal deliveries on the watch. The update also promises up to 10% longer battery life than Wear OS 6, while new Gemini Intelligence features are slated for later this year.
COMMENTARY
The update pushes Wear OS toward more glanceable, phone-synced experiences that make smartwatches more useful without opening apps. Battery gains and upcoming Gemini features suggest Google is trying to close gaps with Apple Watch while making AI a larger part of wearable interactions.
