Fox wants to take over your TV — and the tech inside it

Fox announced a $22 billion deal to acquire Roku, the streaming platform used in more than 100 million homes worldwide. Fox says it plans to keep Roku’s interface and business separate while adding Fox Sports, news, and local stations to the platform.

The deal would push Fox deeper into the TV operating system layer, where control over discovery, advertising, and viewer data can be as valuable as content ownership.
