Enterprise AI agents keep creating data silos. Microsoft's Build answer is Microsoft IQ and Rayfin.

At Build 2026, Microsoft introduced Microsoft IQ, a unified context layer that expands Fabric IQ with signals about organizational workflows, knowledge, business data, and real-time web information. It also launched Rayfin, an open-source SDK and CLI that lets agent-built applications deploy directly to Fabric, keeping application data inside a governed backend instead of creating new silos.

Microsoft is targeting a growing enterprise gap: retrieval systems can find data, but agents still need shared business context and policy-aware infrastructure to act reliably. By tying agent context and app deployment to Fabric, Microsoft is positioning its data platform as the control plane for enterprise AI adoption.
