God of War Laufey is coming to the PS5

Sony closed its State of Play showcase by announcing God of War Laufey, a new PS5 entry from Santa Monica Studio with no release date yet. The game puts players in control of Faye/Laufey rather than Kratos, with a familiar tone but more acrobatic, magic-driven combat.

The reveal signals Sony is willing to evolve one of PlayStation’s biggest franchises by changing both its lead character and combat style. If successful, the shift could broaden God of War’s appeal while preserving the series’ mythological identity and AAA showcase value for PS5.
